Becoming His Beloved
1995,over two cups of chai,a promise was made . My dadi and her bestfriend decided our futures before we were even born. They called it a "Sacred bond", but to me ,it feels like a trap. Twenty-three years later,that old promise has become a reality and now here I'am standing in a simple red bridal saree, waiting for a man I don't even know. Not even his name . How Cruel isn't it? We are two strangers by a deal made decades ago. My mind is spining with questions. Can I really trust him? Will he treat me like a object,the way so many men oppress women?Or will he be gentle? They say love comes after marriage.But as i step into this new life,I wonder if we can find respect in a bond we didn't choose.
