Chapter 2 : The Almighty kingdom

The kingdom of Caelmont was ruled by King Riaum, a sovereign whose family had worn the crown for centuries. For King Riaum, the kingdom had never fallen. Its strength came from strict laws, strong discipline, and loyalty that every citizen was taught to follow without question.

Caelmont was surrounded by three borders.

To the North lay Solmere, a land that was always watchful and uneasy.

To the South rested Eldoria, calm on the surface but never fully trusted.

To the East stood the strongest border of all, marked by old walls and endless battlefields.

Long ago, these three kingdoms were not enemies. They traded together, shared festivals, weddings and stood as allies. Peace lasted for many years, and the borders were open and safe.

That peace ended when King Riaum’s grandfather , the Great Maximell was deceived.

The rulers of Solmere and Eldoria invited him under the promise of unity. Instead, they betrayed him. He was tortured slowly and painfully, later was killed, and with his death, trust between the kingdoms shattered.

Caelmont answered with war.

Two major wars followed, lasting for years. Thousands died, and the land was changed forever. When the fighting ended, the three borders were sealed, and hatred replaced friendship.

Nowhere showed this more than the Eastern Border.

This is where Caelmont’s bravest were made,” the people said.

And so were its widows and orphans.”

The scars of war remained, and peace… if it still existed, was fragile at best.
